Our paper was published in PNAS

We are pleased to announce our new publication in PNAS, titled “Global hinge sites of proteins as target sites for drug binding”, by Zhang, H., Gur, M., and Bahar, I. This study demonstrates that “global hinges”—key mechanosensitive residues orchestrating large-scale protein motions—are frequently targeted by existing drugs. Harnessing these sites as novel drug-binding hotspots could expand therapeutic strategies, especially when combined with orthosteric or allosteric interventions.
